Highland Prep Introduces Girls Flag Football as a Fall Sport

Girls Flag Football Makes Its Mark at Highland Prep

This fall, Highland Prep made history by introducing girls flag football as a sport, providing a game-changing opportunity for young women to build confidence, strength, and teamwork in a supportive and empowering environment. The addition of flag football to Highland Prep's athletic program reflects the school's commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and student empowerment.

Flag football has become a recognized scholarship sport for girls at the collegiate level and is now a sanctioned high school sport in many states. Although the season is just getting started, the girls have already shown remarkable improvement and growth in confidence. Through dedicated practices, they've developed a strong foundation in the sport and are now showcasing their skills on the field. According to Head Coach Caleb Cajthaml, "It's been a really inspiring experience getting to watch our athletes approach flag football with the same dedication and commitment they bring to every other sport, if not more."

The team's momentum is building, and their recent scrimmage against sister school Madison Highland Prep was a resounding success. Highland Prep emerged victorious, showcasing the team's impressive skills and teamwork. This win is a promising start to the season, and the team is eager to continue growing and competing. Coach Cajthaml adds, "We've been lucky to have some remarkable athletes try out for the team, and that's done a lot to make up for what we might lack in experience." With its inaugural season off to a strong start, the future looks bright for Highland Prep's girls flag football team.
